Living long and well should be our end game. The human body is capable of functioning well into our 90’s but we have to start in our 40’s with daily, smart, measurable, adjustable exercise and stretching routines that increases the quality of our health span. That requires overcoming obstacles to daily exercise and stretching.
What are those obstacles?

The easier access you have to equipment for daily resistance exercise the more likely you are to use them consistently and in turn establish lasting habits that translates into measurable results. According to the International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA), 50% of new health club memberships are canceled within the first six months.

This always the biggest, every day, obstacle because this requires taking our body from a state of stressless comfort to a state of stress and discomfort. It's through reasonable discomfort and moderate stress our bodies, and minds, practices reliance and therefore adapts.

Every day our body's and our life circumstances are slightly different. Some mornings you may wake up feeling good and the next morning feeling stiff or achy. Our schedules change, we strain or injure ourselves, or we don’t sleep well enough the night before. Not only have I seen this pattern over and over in my 35 year professional career as a fitness educator, I have also personally experienced it throughout my life.
